Which superhero Television is Better- MCU OR Arrowverse

ARROWVERSE VS MCU.

THE ARROWVERSE CORNER.

So basically, The Arrowverse is an American media franchise and a shared universe that is centered on various interconnected television series primarily airing on The CW and web series airing on CW Seed. The series were developed by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Geoff Johns, Ali Adler, Phil Klemmer, Salim Akil and Caroline Dries, and based on characters appearing in publications by DC Comics. Set in a shared fictional multiverse much like the DC Universe and DC Multiverse in comic books, it was established by crossing over common plot elements, settings, cast, and characters that span six live-action television series and two animated series.

The franchise began with Arrow, based on the character Green Arrow, which debuted in October 2012. It was followed by The Flash in 2014, and the animated web-series Vixen in 2015. The franchise was further expanded in 2016, when in January of that year a new series titled Legends of Tomorrow debuted, starring characters that originally appeared on both Arrow and The Flash. Later that year, the CBS series Supergirl, having already crossed-over with The Flash, was moved to The CW for its second season, where it has remained since. A second animated web-series, Freedom Fighters: The Ray, was released in 2017, which followed Ray Terrill / The Ray, who would make a live-action appearance during that year’s crossover event “Crisis on Earth-X”. In addition to the live-action and web-based series, the franchise has spawned three promotional tie-in live-action web series, Blood Rush, Chronicles of Cisco, and The Flash: Stretched Scenes; released in 2013, 2016, and 2017 respectively. A fifth series, Batwoman, premiered in 2019, with a sixth, Superman & Lois, scheduled for 2021. Since 2014, there has been a yearly crossover event involving many of the live-action series of the Arrowverse. Additionally, Matt Ryan has reprised his role as John Constantine from the NBC series Constantine, initially in guest appearances in episodes of Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow, before becoming a series regular for the latter, in addition to continuing storylines from the former series.

The 2018 and 2019 crossovers, “Elseworlds” and “Crisis on Infinite Earths”, respectively, saw multiple DC television series and films be retroactively added to the franchise’s multiverse. “Crisis on Infinite Earths” also rebooted the multiverse, which saw Supergirl join the other live-action series on a new fictional earth along with the series Black Lightning, which had previously been separate up to this point. The franchise has been successful, creating a large fandom around the world and has received positive reviews, where critics have praised the themes, acting, action sequences, direction and character development.

THE MCU CORNER.

And talking about the MCU, The Marvel Cinematic Universe , is an American media franchise and shared universe centered on a series of superhero films, independently produced by Marvel Studios and based on characters that appear in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The franchise includes comic books, short films, television series, and digital series. The shared universe, much like the original Marvel Universe in comic books, was established by crossing over common plot elements, settings, cast, and characters.

The first MCU film is Iron Man (2008), which began the films of Phase One culminating in the crossover film The Avengers (2012). Phase Two began with Iron Man 3 (2013) and concluded with Ant-Man (2015). Phase Three began with Captain America: Civil War (2016) and concluded with Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019). The first three phases in the franchise are collectively known as “The Infinity Saga”. The films of Phase Four will begin with Black Widow (2020) and are set to conclude with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022).

Marvel Television expanded the universe to network television with Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC in 2013, followed by online streaming with Daredevil on Netflix in 2015 and Runaways on Hulu in 2017, and cable television with Cloak & Dagger on Freeform in 2018. Marvel Television produced the digital series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: Slingshot. Marvel Studios expanded to online streaming with Disney+ for tie-in shows, starting with WandaVision in 2020 as the first series in Phase Four, along with Helstrom on Hulu, which was inherited from Marvel Television following its closure and folding into Marvel Studios. Soundtrack albums have been released for all the films and many of the television series, as well as compilation albums containing existing music heard in the films. The MCU includes tie-in comics published by Marvel Comics, while Marvel Studios has produced a series of direct-to-video short films, called Marvel One-Shots, and a viral marketing campaign for its films and the universe with the faux news program WHIH Newsfront.

The franchise has been commercially successful and has generally received a positive critical response, though some reviewers have found that some of its films and television series have suffered in service of the wider universe. It has inspired other film and television studios with comic book character adaptation rights to attempt to create similar shared universes. The MCU has been the focus of other media, outside of the shared universe, including attractions at various Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, an attraction at Discovery Times Square, a Queensland Gallery of Modern Art exhibit, two television specials, guidebooks for each film, multiple tie-in video games, and commercials.

Almost all of these shows are not available in India yet but you can watch them on TV.

The difference between the the Arrowverse and Marvel is that, the series that marvel provide are slow and boring while the series that Arrowverse provide are long but 5x funnier , have interesting fights, it has access to all of the DC characters and the Multiverse, the costumes are awesome while when you watch MCU series you’ll find them not putting a lot of efforts into it, it’s almost like you can imagine the Arrowverse characters fighting in normal everyday outfits but you can’t imagine iron fist fight without wearing black, they have better pacing and a wide range of powers.

So now we know that the Arrowverse bangs while MCU just doesn’t . Here Arrowverse wins, it may not have the budget or the star power of the MCU, but it makes up for it with fun flashy action and a lot of heart. You don’t see people talking about the iron fist usually but you do see how crazy people are about The Flash. Now that we know that the Arrowverse just stands out and is more mature than the series that MCU on Netflix provide. There are MCU shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter and Runaways, but you don’t see Marvel/DC fans talk about them much but they do like the Arrowverse very much and let’s day it has won a lot of fans hearts.

The Binge Flix Conclusion
TBF recommends you to watch The Arrowverse shows than the MCU shows, because as mentioned before Arrowverse is more interesting. We get it that Marvel has cool MCU films that bangs more than that of DC , but it seems like they are just not putting any efforts to make their Netflix shows to stand out . The MCU shows that we would recommend you to watch will be Runaways (it’s short and cute) and The Punisher. Be sure to check out our sister article on Arroweverse and MCU Time Travel as well.
